A very special evening of music, song and dance was held in St Mary’s, Dr O’Reilly hall on April 24. The concert was the brainchild of Mr Micheál Kerr of Scoil Mhuire who formed a Traditional Irish Music Group entitled Gluais last September. When he visited our school to view the hall, he overheard our Banna Ceoil and was so impressed, he insisted that they perform with Gluais at his benefit concert. All the proceeds from the night went towards our local hospice group. The talent from both schools was undeniable and the Carney Dancers added a sparkle to the evening with a wonderful version of Riverdance. The finale was a lovely collaborative rendition of ‘Love (Music) shine a Light’ by both schools. The younger children’s voices added that ‘cute’ factor that only Primary School children can!
Unfortunately the file with the wonderful recording of the Finale is too big to attach, but stayed tuned and a segment of the recording may be posted very soon!
