Last Thursday (May 23rd) was “Tour Day” for 5th Class pupils. As the bus travelled the high-ways and by-ways along the Meath/Cavan border towards Breffni, active fun was the order of the day. We arrived at “The Crystal Maze” and after a quick snack we were divided into teams – the goal of each team was to collect as many crystals as possible. The team with the most crystals would be crowned the winner. Team activities included a variety of mental, physical and skill challenges. Some of the tasks proved much more demanding than others. Nevertheless, everyone showed great determination. At the end of the day, the winning team (a combination of pupils from Rooms 31 and 33) picked up the crystal trophy. The trophy will be proudly displayed in our “Trophy Cabinet” at school. As we made our way home after an exhausting yet exciting day, a few energetic pupils began a sing-song at the back of the bus. In no time at all we were back at St. Mary’s. A great day was had by all!
