Jeffrey’s dad Tony came to visit our class this week for Intercultural Week. He told us all about India – the area he is from, the food they eat, the coconut juice that they drink and lots of information about the elephant festival – Thrissur Pooram.
Elephants are very important animals in India. In the Thrissur Pooram festival, the elephants are painted with beautiful colours and decorations and they look amazing. The people who paint them, train the elephants from when they are very young, so that they sit very still. The female elephants also get their toe nails painted 😉
We learned loads of exciting things about India!
