On Monday, June 13th, the St Mary’s school community celebrated our Be Active achievements by raising the recently acquired Be Active Flag above the school grounds. The entire school population, along with parents and invited guests, assembled at the front of the school, alongside the flag poles. Ms Murray welcomed all present and reminded us about the efforts undertaken by everyone in the Be Active programme. The flag itself was hoisted by our guest of honour, Eleanor Murray, a former pupil of the school and an award winning national and international swimmer. Pop See Ko, a popular dance piece, was played over the loudspeaker and people began to move and shake to the rhythm of the music. Our school band concluded the ceremony with a rendition of our national anthem, Amhrán na bhFiann. Maith sibh go léir!
