Thank you!

A huge heartfelt thank you to all the children and their parents and guardians who contributed to Daffodil Day before the Easter break. The final amount raised was €2,305.16 which was incredibly generous of everyone concerned. It would be remiss of us not to pay tribute to the knitting and crafting ladies who produced the items that were on sale in the school for this very worthy cause.

It is no exaggeration to say that these ladies spent the past year knitting and crocheting while in lockdown in order to have supplies for Daffodil Day 2021, as the street campaign couldn’t take place last year or this year. Cecile Sommerville, who has spearheaded this community campaign, received the first ever Cancer Society Community medal this year. We are blessed to have her in our community. Ettie McManus and Pauline Egan supplied extra bags of handmade daffodils. If you know these ladies be sure to thank and congratulate them!
