Student Council Talent Show 2017

Student Council Talent Show 2017

Our annual Talent Show took place on Friday, 2nd of June.  St Mary’s Student Council organised the Talent Show, assisted by Debby Walsh and Mrs O’Hare. Pupils from Fourth, Fifth and Sixth classes participated in the show and the presenters were Students Council members from Fifth and Sixth classes. There were over thirty acts involved including dramas, solos, singing, dancing, gymnastics and instrumentals.  Two performances were organised, a shorter Junior Show in the morning and a Senior Show after lunch.  Participants paid an entry fee of €3 and the audience was asked to make a donation of €2.  All proceeds from both performances will go to the student-nominated charities-Childline and Dogs Trust Ireland.

Both performances were a great success and lots of positive feedback was received. Some staff members made a surprise appearance with their guitars in tow.  Others sang giving ‘Picture This’ and Nathan Carter a run for their money.  Many agreed that the Talent Show  provided very good entertainment value for €2.

The annual Talent Show is a great opportunity for students to showcase their talents and also to raise funds for many good causes. We appreciate and thank you for all the support we received over the years.

Finally, the Talent Show confirms what we all suspected-St Mary’s got talent and lots of it!
