Ár mBanna ag Seinm sa Halla i rith Seachtain na Gaeilge

Cúpla seachtain ó shin d’imigh ár mbanna chuig seó cheoil i mBaile Átha Cliath. An t-ainm a bhí ar an seó ná ‘Corfhéile’. Chuaigh Mrs McGale agus Mr Madden in éineacht leis an mbanna. De bharr é sin, bhí tionól beag againn ar scoil maidin inniu agus chualamar na páistí ón mbanna ag seinm go leor píosaí cheoil os ár gcomhair. Bhí an ceol go hálainn le cloisteáil agus fuair na ceoltóirí bualadh bos mór ón lucht féachana! Comhghairdeachas leo!

Tús le ‘Seachtain na Gaeilge’ i mBunscoil Clochar Mhuire!

Bhí tionól iontach iontach mhaith againn i mBunscoil Clochar Mhuire ar an 6ú lá de mhí Márta chun tús Seachtain na Gaeilge a cheiliúradh. Thosaigh an tionól ar leathuair tar éis a naoi ar maidin agus faoin am seo bhí an halla plodaithe le daoine óga is le daoine fásta. Rinne na buachailli is na cailíní ó sheomra 10 a ndícheall chun an lucht féachana a shiamsú agus de réir na daoine a bhí i láthair sa halla, bhí siad thar barr! Chualamar go leor Gaeilge (dánta, ceol agus roinnt maith eile), ach an rud is fearr a bhí os ár gcomhair ná an Haka Gaelach! Bhí na páistí ar fheabhas ar fad agus bhain gach duine an-sult as an taispeántas iomlán!

‘One Good Idea’ – The Regional Final

We are so proud of our Energy Squad who represented St Mary’s so well today in the Regional Final of ‘One Good Idea’ schools competition. They made a video and delivered a Power Point presentation on how to save energy and combat climate change. The judges were really impressed. Our school was one of 170 applicants, of which only 10 were chosen for the regional final. The girls’ message was: You don’t have to be a Superhero to save the world! Well done girls! You’ve made us very proud!

St Mary’s Spelling Bee 2020!

Twenty pupils from 5th and 6th Classes took part in our annual Spelling Bee this afternoon. After a brief practice, the competition began in earnest. The words were challenging and the atmosphere was electric. Pupils had to overcome a variety of words including luscious, expedient and hierarchy in order to pass from one round to another. The efforts of all the participants need to be applauded, but there can only be one winner. This year’s Spelling Champion hails from 5th Class (Room 27) and her classmates erupted with a thunderous roar when she was crowned the winner. She was presented with a Spelling Bee Dictionary and a book voucher. Her name will be engraved on our Spelling Bee wall plaque as the Spelling Bee Champion for 2020. We will all be shouting for her when she participates in the county final, to be held in our school hall on Wednesday 11th March!
